Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months ago Penumbra Overture Crash

Hello, I just want to let you all know that I did try the solutions in the sticky before posting.

In Overture, after escaping from the spiders and making it into the Storage room and retrieving the gasoline, the game crashes once I destroy the air duct cover to leave. I have tried SO many things like changing the settings and downloading the .exe's and downloading the patches. No matter what I do, the game ALWAYS crashes at this part.

It looks like you're missing files. Did you reinstall the game?

I have in the past to no avail. I have also verified the cache numerous times which have brought back some files, but it never fixes the crash. I'll try again though.

Edit: Nope didn't work.
Also when it crashes I get the popup that says "penumbra.exe cause an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module <UNKNOWN> at 0023:00000000"

Probably should have posted that as well but forgot to.

Can you run the game as administrator?

Also, try installing in a folder other than program files. That helps sometimes too.

None of that worked. Still get the same message upon crashing. Also, I'm not sure if this is any consolation but this is the Steam version. Also my OS is Windows 7.
