crash after title screen

the game loads fine and everything goes great until the end of the loading screen after the ingame main menu. Then i just sit with a blank screen and music.

specs:
2.2 ghz 3500+ AMD Athlon 64 Procesessor
1 gig ram
ATI Radeon 9600 series video card with 128 mb ram

I have the exact same problem I also have a Radeon 9600 Video card. The game should run well on it, but apparently not.. Please help!!

Both of you make sure the game is fully updated to v1.2 which fixes issues with old ATI cars like the X-Series. Then, install this according to your operating system and try again:

I just downloaded and my game off of steam yesterday so i think its up to date, I don't know how to tell for sure though, and I am downloading the drivers.

Still no good , I downloaded and installed the drivers and still encountered the same problem. As far as I know my copy of the game is up to date, but how do I confirm this? When i went through the game menus I didn't see a version number or anything.

your game can barely run the game and it seems like it cannot. You need to buy a new graphics card...
