your card is not capable of running the game. It is berely able but Intel has not released yet drivers to support OpenGL 2.1 that Amnesia requires.

probably not. Don't wait for Intel. Buy a new graphics card.

I just checked my opengl version and it is 2.1, also 2.1 was released for intel cards in 2008 so it can't be that.
in the hpl it says the problem is the system doesn't support "const arrays in glsl" which im guessing is to do with my shading language, probelm is the shading language version for opengl is 1.2 which is the one ive got and it seems like you cant change that

its an OpenGL issue. You cannot do anything about it. The only Intel cards supported are Intel HD and even these only with the latest driver (2361).

What if one is using a laptop where the inappropriate [Intel] graphics card cannot be replaced? All other requirements are met (RAM, processing speed, etc.), but this one thing prevents the game from starting. A good practice for a company would be LISTING the graphics cards that work if there's such an issue with "outdated" cards.

Instead I will have to wait several years until I can afford a new computer in order to play the game I just purchased. I am very disappointed with Frictional Games.

These are the system requirements(look at the bold part especially):

OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: 1.5Ghz - Low budget CPUs such as Celeron or Duron needs to be at about twice the CPU speed.
Memory: 1024MB
Video Card: Radeon 9600/GeForceFX - Integrated graphics and very low budget cards might not work.
