The game is not meant to work on X3100, it is also possible that it is impossible for it to work even if tried to make it work. So unfortunately yes.

Bummer. I was really looking forward to playing the game. Oh well, at least I have it and know what to look for hardware/software wise when I buy my next computer. Thanks for the help.. This was my first time buying and downloading a game off line. I had no idea there was so much involved with supporting and running a game. I read that Penumbra can be supported by X3100, given my specs above, do you think it will run on my laptop?

Yes, Penumbra should run, but it is the same that it is not really supported. Try the demo first and see how it works!

I have been having the same problem I think...I have a Macbook with a GMA 950 graphics card. Does this mean I won't be able to play Amnesia?

Unfortunately the GMA 950 card is not supported by Amnesia.
