RE: Skyrim thread

Yep, the Skyrim must be one of the most mod friendly games out there.
The possibilities are almost infinte. One major thing limiting, is the power of the rig. If you have like 100 heavy mods running, it's gonna be a total slideshow.

Was ran on similiar specs to mine, and got pulled only about 5 frames or so.

RE: Skyrim thread

Very nice graphics for a DX9 game!
I have a lot of mods installed, but not everything is about improving graphics. I don't use any ENB, just some better textures. To enhance the view rance by change the uGridsToLoad option is also not a good idea. Even when I set it to 7 the game will crash when you start a new game. The 32-bit engine just can't handle it. And my rig couldn't be better:

- Intel Core i7-4770 @3,9 GHz
- 16 GB DDR3-1600
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 JetStream
- 256 GB SSD

I have 50 FPS constantly at highest settings, V-Sync and 8x AA.

RE: Skyrim thread

I've those hunger and tempature mods installed. Good way to make the game more challenging. Feels almost like a totally different experience. More dragons, different UI for the menus, that kind of stuff. Texture mods just don't work properly for some mystical reason. I guess I have to reinstall when I feel less lazy.

RE: Skyrim thread

Spoiler below!
This is the character I've spent about 20 hours on. I'm playing a survival type, so I'll rather run than attack people, I hunt and sell my produce for gold. Since I don't engage in combat so much, my main income for XP is smithing and alchemy basically, so I'm only level 8.

Here is my character, low level, just shot a wolf.

Trying not to alert a mammoth of my presence.

I found an abandoned camp. According to a diary I found inside, they were either passing by or actually out to hunt what was in the cave nearby. They were afraid of what was inside of it though. So, as the adventurer I am, I decide to investigate further. It turned out to be a cave full of falmer, which had attacked the adventurers camp at night and kidnapped them. It was hard, but I managed to clear my first dungeon and I was then on my merry way.

And here's a picture of my most recent creation. He's only a level one character, because I haven't played so much, but he's a werewolf.

RE: Skyrim thread

How do you get a far viewrange like this?
Do you use ENB?

RE: Skyrim thread

Yup, I tweaked the .ini. Search it up and make sure you don't increase it too much.

Edit: Here's a link.

This is how I've edited my .ini:

ugridsToLoad=9
uInterior Cell Buffer=16
uExterior Cell Buffer=128

I have a mid-high end computer and this works very well for me.

Thanks for the link, but I already tweaked the uGridsToLoad option correctly (with the other options depending on it) and the FPS are not the problem, but when you start a new game, the game will crash until the caravan arrives Helgen. I want to play stable.
