Deleting the folder did the trick....yes I did update the driver right before I posted the launcher log...

Can you check the file permissions of the ~/.frictionalgames/Amnesia folder and files with it.

ls -lR ~/.frictionalgames/Amnesia/

If files are not all owned by you change the owner.

Then try completely removing the ~/.frictionalgames/Amnesia/ folder.
