[solved]Steam in Refinery Missing

The visual effects for the steam puzzle in the refinery area aren't visible. As a result, the puzzle isn't playable.
Test Host:
Penumbra E1 1.01
Debian Sid
Kernel 2.6.18
NVIDIA Driver Version: 1.0-9755
Direct Rendering: Yes
OpenGL renderer string: GeForce 6800 GT/AGP/SSE/3DNOW!
AMD Athlonâ„¢ XP 3000+
MemTotal: 1036128 kB
As you can see by the screenshot, I've turned the graphics to defaults for reproduction, but with the same results. Logs and save file attached.

after trial and error, i actually did it without seeing the steam :-)
...i just had to remember what squares killed me and add that to the pattern not to follow the next time.
After installing the patch and seeing the steam, what a difference!
Also, nice turn around on the patch. You guys fixed it really quickly!
