Fatal Error #0 - please help! I'm a newbie <3

Hello guys!

Well, after buying 'Amnesia : The Dark Descent' for my laptop, when installed, I clicked on it (of course). But then, when I launched the game, the game crashed saying 'FATAL ERROR: Renderer #0 could not be initialized! Make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date. Check log file for more information.' Now don't call me lazy, I've been trying to find a solution all day; in fact, month. (I bought this game a while back.) I'm starting to run out of ideas. And I DON'T want to believe my laptop cannot run it - because I always think they're one way without spending money on something.



Windows 7 : Home Edition - 32bit.
Graphics Card : Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
Processor Pentium® Dual-Core CPU T4500 @ 2.30GHz, 2300 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

I've been trying to update my drivers, using things like 'Driver Detective' and 'Drivers for free' yet even though it says SOME things are outdated, when I attempt to update them it says it already is. :/


If someone does help me, please note down... I'M A NEWBIE AT THIS STUFF!!!! Try to explains things easily please, and instead of saying 'Update your driver' please send me a link to the download if possible, I'm that bad.


I'm really looking forward to playing Amnesia, since Penumbra got me shit scared!

Due to bad Intel drivers for windows and because your card can barely run the game, you can only play it at linux.

You can however try to update your drivers manually since you have a laptop but most probably it won't work: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-9942.html

ahh, i see. What do you mean by 'Linux'? (total newb.)

Linux is another operating system like Windows. Even if you had Linux you have to buy the game from frictional games store only and not steam.

Anyway, your graphics card is below system requirements to run the game.
