Menu missing

The game runs perfectly fine except that I can't bring up the menu when I want to stop playing. Hitting the esc key does nothing. And yeah, I tried every single key on the keyboard just to be sure. All the other menus work perfectly fine too btw, it's only that particular one.

ctrl+alt+delete isn't the way I preffer quitting.

1. What operating system do you have? Also 32-bit or 64-bit?
2. Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?
3. Attach me here the file HPL.log found under Documents\Amnesia\Main folder.

ah yes, I meant to do that but I had to run so I just made the quick post in case it was known.
