Now if only I could get you using colored lights in addition to boxlights :p
Do you know the colour of the sun at sunset? Because I really do need it.
Edit:
R: 0.196 -> 0.392 -> 0.920 -> 1.000 -> 1.000
G: 0.049 -> 0.133 -> 0.472 -> 0.558 -> 0.660
B: 0.000 -> 0.051 -> 0.121 -> 0.138 -> 0.293
Very saturated sunset/rise, used 0.053, 0.058, 0.072 as a boxlight because it looked cool
How that works: the numbers go in columns with red on the top, green on the middle, blue on the bottom.
Last value on the right is reserved for spotlights shining through sun-facing windows only. You don't necessarily need all of the colours
What about sunrise and night?
It seems like you can't make a pure white colour in GIMP. Why GIMP? Why? Btw, I have a new red sofa.

This is what I use for night time:
R 0.017 -> 0.053 -> 0.061 -> 0.105 -> 0.122 -> 0.551
G 0.060 -> 0.058 -> 0.082 -> 0.116 -> 0.165 -> 0.741
B 0.092 -> 0.071 -> 0.106 -> 0.141 -> 0.211 -> 1.000

Glad to see you're using a boxlight :D
See those large dark spots in the corners of the room? Especially on the ceiling above the bed. You can get rid of those fairly easily:
- The current pointlight you have in the center of the room, move it closer to the window (source of light). This will darken the far wall, but don't worry about that yet
- Decrease the radius to about 3 or 4, depending on the size of your map (I'd say 3 for yours)
- Duplicate the light and increase the radius to 5, decrease the brightness by half (if the first light is 1, 1, 1 the new one is 0.5, 0.5, 0.5)
- Duplicate this light, increase the radius to about 7, decrease the brightness by half again (should now be at 0.25, 0.25, 0.25 if you started at 1, 1, 1)
- Arrange them so the brightest one is closest to the window and the dimmest is furthest away (but still close)
I really like the book-shelves in the wall, by the way! That's pretty nifty.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
(1) First one feels to small, the stairs and curved 2nd floor is a nice touch. But it feels really squished.
(2) To dark for a night sky that bright.
(3) To many lights IMO, and they should at least have some point lights illuminating their respective areas.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Yeah cheers guys. The 2nd picture is from the demo i just released. They outside is quite bare but will be filled once amfp is released. I recently added a boxlight of 0.05 to lighten it up just a tad.
And the first picture is still 100% wip atm. Im currently doing a stream on twitch tv every night around 9-10pm Australian time.
Cheers for the feedback though. Always helps

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Using a placeholder flashlight at the moment and still messing with the spotlight emitted by the flashlight. Gobo will probably change too.

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Perhaps even some of those small lights that you see on the side of the walls in a tunnel. There's an example

RE: Screenshot criticism thread
Unless you're specifically going for the effect, don't take screenshots while you are in the "dark".
