Yea! Great! Smile

You have a lot of beams in the ceiling, I'm thinking about whether all of those are necessary.

Keep them simple, or maybe try to hide them a little bit by making the color of the ceiling more brown, because my eyes are quickly caught by that.

Trying is the first step to success.

I think that either the ceiling is too bright, or the floor too dark. It's too much of a contrast! Try to even it out with larger but a bit darker PointLights. Smile

The Beams are mainly there to decorate the celling a bit more, make it look more fancy.

I'll brighten the spotlights coming through the window a little bit more but not alot since the time this map is set is night, I'm mainly trying to simulate realistic lighting.
I might also modify the candles and make them not so bright.

Very nice for a cabin (I guess that's what it is.)
Try using the wooden planks from the cellar in the ceiling instead to create a difference, so it isn't everything that is made from the exact same material.

Yeah looks better now. You're right - it's a cabin in the ship, just before the storm destroying it and leaving player barely alive, alone on a lost island Tongue Trying to make a survival based custom story, actually. Anyways thank you for the tip, mate!

RE: Screenshot criticism thread

Just a few things from what I can see:

That floor screams unrealism. I don't know if it is too stretched or not stretched enough (or just your computer's graphics/resolution settings), but it just seems very out of place. The panels on the roof as well should be scaled up (so that they are larger)

I believe you are using a boxlight, could be right, could be wrong. It seems to be quite bright, which although there are a lot of lights, does not mean that it should be giving off that much white.

What is the need for four drawers in a corridor, with an identical statue on top of them all? Do they have a particular purpose? Realistically, you would not stand in-between them and pull out their drawers because well, there's no room behind you to step back as such to inspect them, and blocks the corridor. Consider the use of the ceiling assets in the mansionbase too! They can make your ceiling different from your rooms, and limit the planes on the roof.

The bedrooms, they are a little empty. Look around your bedroom. What do you have? I would expect perhaps a few pictures on the wall, some curtains, etc. A rug is always good to have somewhere in there. Take a look in the decals folder of the static_object section, and also have a think about more furniture which works. Perhaps a bedside table, or a chair for the desk too!

Also, based on recollection, you should be able to see the black border on the mansion_base door frame when you have a doorway. As such, you would need to move your walls to compensate. With that said, it's not the biggest thing, but can cause clipping issues sometimes.

Either way, not bad for your start. You have got an idea of what goes where and incorporated it, but you still have a lot to learn. Don't let criticism put you down though, we try our best to help.

I know, i need to make the floor better. And yes, i put the boxlight in it for better vision. But clipping issues and the black border , how can i fix that mostly?

But thanks btw, i am gonna send a picture in the next 1-3 months

I wouldn't worry about it. It's a really little thing, and is a usual oversight. It only really becomes an issue when you have a completely different environment on the other side which has different wall models which may leak through the back.
