RE: Atom based 3D technology.

But it still can't be unlimited, because unlimited is, well, unlimited. It's beyond comprehension. They said in the video that they could squeeze an unlimited amounts of "atoms" into the scene, which is impossible (~1:25 in the first video). It would have been sane if they said that they can squeeze an extreme large amount of them into the scene but unlimited? That's very hard to believe because it just can't be unlimited. That's what bugs me, the unlimited part. Everything is fine except the unlimited part, because argh! It can't be unlimited!

this just blows my mind... i honestly couldn't tell the difference between that and real life (other than the fact that half the stuff in the video would never exist in real life Tongue). can't wait until people actually start using this in games!!!

Indeed this looks interesting, but i think graphics cards won't support this in the next 10 years.

And i can't guess how much memory and processing speed this will consume, i mean, unlimited? really? I don't think so.

There are only so much meshes being rendered at a time so that of the graphics card is wrong.

After searching more on the subject I found out that the tech does not require an high tech g.card. It can be applied in cellphones and so on and is still in development.

"We are currently developing the commercial version of the Unlimited Detail SDK. After that, you should expect to see 3D graphics take a huge leap forward in about 16 months when Unlimited Detail comes out commercially, in Games and other products. "

"20 FPS on software" should have given that away.

That means it's only using the CPU, right?
