Can' t launch Penumbra with Ati hd2900xt and winxp?

hi,
When I launch Penumbra with my HD2900xt, windows reboots and reset my graphic card settings.
I have win xp, HD2900XT, catalyst 7.7, core2duo...

Of course I ' ve patched Penumbra to 1.1... so, does Penumbra 1.1 work with ATI hd2900xt? Does anybody have Penumbra and an TIA hd2900xt?

I have ATI Radeon HD2900XT. I don't have problems with launching Penumbra, but I experience lots of visual artifacts while playing the game: corrupted light sources, missing textures in some places, RMB bug and I can't exit the game correctly - pushing "Esc" freezes the game.
Penumbra patched to 1.01. OS - WinXP, Catalyst 7.7 (same problems with 7.5 and 7.6). Need new patch!

Make sure to not update Penumbra: Overture with Penumbra 1.1 patch, that patch is for the tech demo and not overture.

Not sure why the game crashes when you try to launch, please attach the hpl.log file located in my documents/penumbra overture/episode1/ and it might give us a hint.

As for graphical errors:
There are problems when running some ATI cards in Vista and it also appears that the same problem occurs with the latest ATI cards in XP as well. We have been working for a very long time trying to find the cause and at the moment it looks as though it might be a driver issue, ATI is currently looking into it as well. Unfortunately at the moment there is no estimate on when a fix will be available or any known workarounds for the problems.

I've already updated with the 1.0.1 patch for penumbra overture ep1, found at http://support.frictionalgames.com/entry/66/.
Unfortunately, the hlp.log file is a 0ko empty file, certainly cause the game didn't want to launch...

Yeah f*****' great, I can launch it with catalyst 7.6 ...
But I have the problem as Alexgrb, the game freezes when I press "esc"...

Indeed, I' ve some artifacts and to many in the tunnels caves, I can't see the floor and the walls, there are yellow , so I can' t see where I'm going and the spiders bite me and kill me....
