HeY I need Help

I need some help. I don't know how to put the justine patch into amnesia. I tried to do it, but in the end, it messed up my game and I have to use another user account to play it. I really want some more custom stories, but I needs the justine expansion. By the way, I didn't use steam. I downloaded it from amazon.com.

I think amazon uses the same version as the retail, so go to the publishers (valusoft) support site to download and install the patch.

Do it put the downloaded update in the amnesia folder?

No, you run the updater like an installer that will install the updated files in the correct location.

Well I tried that on this places update here, but it didn't update it. It just made another folder with the files. If its possible, could you tell me step by step instructions on how to do it or else I'll mess it up.

Still need help. I tried to install it, but it says it can't find the previous amnesia game. I even placed it in the amnesia folder, but to no avail. Can you help me?

i don't know how the amazon download works i'm afraid, but it should be the retail update to use.
an options is to install the patch to a location you know, then you manually copy the files from the patch into the installation directory of amnesia and when prompted to merge folders you say yes and when prompted to replace files you say yes. So look at the name of the folders and files in the patch folder and then look in the amnesia installation folder to see where you should put the files (as folders and files will be named the same for things like maps/, entities/ etc).

Here is how it downloads. Once you buy it, its own download launcher will appear and it will proceed to download the game. Then Once thats over there will be a button you press to install the game.
