He has a point, it's his mod; he needed help...I don't see how you could come to the conclusion that he is looking for criticism.
Also; "bumping" him in the right direction would offer him another idea...not cursing and mocking him.
It does say in the title that he needs advice, so there is no reason that people shouldn't tell him that jump scares like that are dumb and boring.
So here's my advice. If you wan't a jumpscare like that, then ok. But instead of just making it appear from nothing, try to make it more realistic. Make it fall out of a locker or something. Or even better, make it subtle, so that player suddenly spots it when it has been in the room for a while. For example, spawn it in a bed, sitting and staring at the player, so that when they turn around they will wonder how long he has been there, and if they maybe hasn't noticed it before.
