Blacked out enviroment

I am on Windows 7 and using a Samsung Chronos Laptop model: 700Z3A
Downloaded amnesia from steam to find the menu background and in game environment are blacked out.
The menus and interface work fine and are visible and the audio is fine. The loading screen image appears but as soon as the game begins i'm plunged into darkness.

I can hear my character when i move him its only the in game graphics that will not appear.


Thank you for any help that can be given and apologies if i missed something blindingly obvious in the Support section.

Edit: I Forgot to mention I have reinstalled amnesia from steam once before in an attempt to fix the problem
