You must own a source game before you can even use the source SDK though.

This generally meaning a game like Counter Strike or Half Life 2. These games are super cheap by now though.

Indeed. On its own the Source SDK is nothing more than an editor/whole lotta other things and doesn't contain any textures or models. You need to have run a Source game at least once to let it cache all of the stuff necessary to run the game, and only when you've done this can you actually access everything in the SDK.

I reinstalled my laptop not too long ago, and with this fresh install I just installed Steam + Source SDK and my HL2 mod. And it worked.

I may be wrong. But I do think Korsakovia is reliant on you owning Half-Life 2 episode 2, specifically. Doesn't it use some assets and base some of the AI from that?

Either way. As much as I love the mod. I can't recommend buying any game specifically for it right now. Again, due to engine updates after the mod's release, it's just incredibly unstable. It crashes often, and it's pretty inconsistent when that will happen.

In regards to the Episode 2 SDK, it comes with Team Fortress 2, which Valve made Free To Play half a year ago. Just download that first, and you'll be fine, Googol.

Now, what I want to know (This is about Machine for Pigs, not Source SDK anymore) is if MFP is going to take the same route Amnesia did with the release - Release a demo about a little under a week before actual release. I think this would help with a small amount of people that have not so great computers, to see if they could run the game or not

So what you are saying is that the original sound developer isn't working on MFP but makes a video with the Shadow from Amnesia roaring at the beginner? Also the game that will use HPL3 isn't revealed yet and it actually might not be another Amnesia.
