Ok, now the thing with hurting yourself is a bit too much I think. Its too detailled compared to the rest of the game if you know what I mean... I mean if you can hurt your hand while screwing around with a flashlight, shouldn't you also be able to bump your head if you stumble around in the dark or fall over stuff lying on the ground if you don't see it? It's sort of a slippery slope, that's what I mean
And not only that, it would also be a neverending source of unintentional slapstick comedy if the player was constantly on the brink of losing fingers to his equipment ^^
Instead you could simply have the camera fixed on the item while you work with it and if you get nervous and want to look around, you have to quit using the lantern/ flashlight. Simple and effective
