I mean come on!We have been waiting for 4 months now.I know that they are working hard on it.
It all depends, if they added bigger areas and more maps then the first Amnesia, then it is probably going to take longer to "polish".

It will take some time until they're finished testing, porting, translating and optimizing.

I speculated on this before. The release time: Q2, is a little vague, leaving a chance for them to release it earlier if they exceed expectations and finish it early, they just probably don't want to move the date a fourth time, so they're exaggerating to keep it safe.

The machine is undergoing minor maintenance. I will start it up so that it roars into life as soon as possible. It makes a bit of noise, so I hope it will not wake any of you up at night. It is, after all, fit only for the slaughtering of pigs ...

It really shocked me to hear, that AMFP originally was planned as a short experiment.
Nice to hear they did a full game of it now.

No theres always something you can do to make it better, its simply impossible to reach a point were you cant find more ways to polish a game like amnesia. impossible

Actually in regards to the sensitive pathological faculties of the mind -- fear especially -- no generalizing statements, such as your own, may be accurately made.

It's been annunced for almost a year, not four months. And stop whining, the game won't come out faster even if you hit 120 dB.
Still hasn't gotten over the loss of wubwub...

This is kind of incredibly big news for classic video games, as system shock 2 was one of the most innovative games of its time. It was the first to allow people move the mouse with free range, interact with objects in such a way, and a real upgrade system for your character. Most big games today like borderlands, mass effect, fallout, etc. are heavily influenced by it. The bioshock series is considered to be its spiritual successor.
Yeah I know that it was a major inspiration for many modern day games The very reason I want to play it is because I heard it influenced the Bioshcok franchise (which I love). I just thought you couldn't get ahold of it because it was on a certain console only, like PS2 or something, or that PC specs were too high for it now xD

It will take some time until they're finished testing, porting, translating and optimizing. It is OpenGL based so it is universal it can be run on any recent operating system with minimal porting necessary.

I would say 1.5/2x longer and 3x bigger.
Any idea how much Vram this will take maps + 12MP I will be fine as I tested with TDD and didn't go over 1100MB with everything maxed 16xaa 128 SSAO samples 3000x2000 (6 MP).
I think it will take up a maximum of 2GB of vram which is 1/3 of what I will have (goodbye my beloved gtx570)
Can I ask, why do you need such such a massive resolution? And SSAO is worthless.
I'm still using my good old ENGTX460 and 1920x1080. No of course not SSAO is just a mere waste of power but I like maxing everything.
The resolution is something that makes me enjoy the game more also I'm on a non-IPS 1080p TN screen atm.
It is pure E-peen to me but as a sever grade enthusiast I think I'm entitled to do so. (just wait for Brickland more frivolous spending)
