Hey guys,

So I ran into the Render #0 issue that has plagued so many people. I looked through you FAQ and followed some of the guidelines, but I haven't found a solution yet. My card is an ATI Mobility Radeon x1300. According to the hpl file, the OpenGL is version 2.0.5529, which I know is too low, since you guys require 2.1.0 at least.

I updated my graphics card by going into computer management, checking under Display Adaptors, right-clicking the card, and clicking "Update." It downloaded and installed some files, and I restarted my computer, but still no luck. I've also downloaded the latest version (1.2) of the game, and still no cigar.

I saw recommendation to download the AMD Catalyst Display Driver, but I'm a bit hesitant to download it, just because I have in the past, and it kind of threw my graphics setting into whack (was later removed by Geek Squad which fixed the problems I was having). Would downloading that actually fix the OpenGL problem (increasing my version number) or am I pretty much out of luck anyway?

I included the hpl.log file, if that helps at all.

yes, you need Catalyst 10.2 to play the game. The version will then go to OpenGL 2.1 which is required.

I can't seem to install it. When it gets to installing the Display Driver, I get this message:

"Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

And then it exits it. I download this one: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/wi...iw_xp.aspx

Which looks to be the right one. I went and downloaded the driver again from the dell website, but still no go. What am I doing wrong?

1. What operating system do you have? Also 32-bit or 64-bit?
2. Is it a laptop or a desktop? If a laptop, what model?
3. Attach us the file HPL.log found under Documents\Amnesia\Main folder.

1. Windows XP Home Edition, 32-bit
2. It's a laptop, Dell MM061
3. Attached (again)

I'm not sure updating drivers would do any good, but it's worth a shot since it seems like your graphic card supports OpenGL 2.0.xxx

You need to have that installed: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/wi...ng=English .Use the have disk method. It should be almost identical to this: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thr...l#pid89162

Otherwise, you cannot play OpenGL 2.1 games like Amnesia.

When I try doing it using the Have Disk method you mentioned, it says that it is installing ABIT Radeon X1550, which isn't the graphics card I'm using....I keep getting warnings that if I proceed, it will likely make my computer unstable. Is this right? I don't want to mess up my computer. Also, why is it necessary to use the Have Disk method?

It is necessary to use the have disk method because AMD does not provide drivers for your card since it is OEM(Dell). The link above is for desktop X1300 card. First, download the latest driver for X1300 from Dell website and install it. If it does not add OpenGL 2.1 support we will need to mod the desktop driver to use it with your laptop.

I already did before. I downloaded the driver from this site under the tab Video: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04

It didn't work though.
