amnesia doesn't start

When I try to launch amnesia through steam, it doesn't open. It doesn't close, nothing happens. Is there anyway to fix it? I was playing it like normal, then I closed it, then I launched it again. After I launched it again this happened.


My main question is, how do I backup my game saves so I can reinstall the game?
secondary question, does anyone know a way to fix this?

The location of the save files are usually located in:

C:\Users\Documents\Amnesia

Assuming you don't have any other full conversion mods installed-- You just make a backup of the 'main' folder.

You can always try to do something in steam, I think it's called: Verifying game cache. Right click the game in your library, and it should be there.
