I'm just gonna be playing something else, meanwhile. I felt the same way you did

RE: Among the Sleep
I was able to "claim" the game on the Humble Bundle page, but there's still no actual game to download. We're getting closer...
EDIT: Got my Steam key, downloading the game now. No DRM-free version yet though.

RE: Among the Sleep
Why isn't it DRM-free? I checked the humble store version and it is Steam infected. Then I will not buy it.
Ah, I see it's also on GOG (which should be DRM-free). But I would prefer to have it in my humble store download list.

Yeah, I'm downloading it on Steam because I'm sick of waiting, but there's a DRM-free version coming. Allegedly. It's part of the Kickstarter backer reward, so it fucking better be coming:

RE: Among the Sleep
What is a DRM-version, and how is it better than a steam version?
Oh well... see you in 2-3 hours... I'm gonna play this bastard

When something is DRM (Digital Rights Management) free, it basically means that you can install it directly to the harddrive without it being bound to an application service (Windows Live, uPlay, Steam), and be installed multiple times generally without a required activation.
Can you provide us with a review from your 2 hours of gameplay (stalked your steam )? Wouldn't mind giving it a go, but I'm a little low on cash right now

RE: Among the Sleep
I remember the good ol' days of manual look-up. Copy protection has always been a pain for the consumers though, no matter how you slice it.
Steam I don't mind too much though, they've got lots of services that I'd use anyway and frankly, it's good to have all my games centered in one place.

Without spoiling anything I'd just like to list the pros and cons.
Pros:
The ambience is awesome! Sounds every where! All kinds of. First time playing, you wouldn't know what is an actual thing and what is just noises.
The story. Loved it. That's all i can say. Even though you might've already figured it out from the beginning it's still enjoyable to play. And the small twist, where you suddenly realize something... It's there too...
Mapping is good too. Sometimes it can get a little messy, but it's ok, when you are in the world you're in.
Cons:
Animations haven't been in focus. Multiple times when something is picked up you can see textures going through each other.
I don't feel like I get enough voices lines from the helper of the protagonist. I'd like some more, to feel like he's with me all the time, and feels like I do.
It's correct that the game is short, but it was worth it to me. I'd play it again for the sounds, the music, the enemies and the story. I'd also show it to my friends, have them play it, all that stuff
It took me about 1-2 hours of completion. I stopped playing mid-game because my friends asked me to play with him, so I'm not sure. But I spent close to an hour this morning, and at least 1 hour yesterday night
Trying is the first step to success.
