Oh well. If you do need precision, than he finished "the Brothers Karamazov" at November 1980 and died at the last days of January 1981. Three months after the completion of the novel. I think I could call this period "next day", because it's really close.

Anyway, I love your list of favorites. For example, "The Stranger" is not among my favorites at the moment, but it was for a long period, until I've read "The Steppen Wolf" by Hesse. The same with Proust, he was my favorite, until I felt in love with Joyce. Anyway, we're talking about real High literature, and that's cool! Big Grin

As for Camus, after I had read "The Stranger" I was assigned to read "The Myth of Sisyphus" for philisophy class. It ended with me googling reviews because the book was so confusing to read for me at the time. Funny thing is I got an A on the report Big Grin .

As for Camus I'd recommend to try "the Plague". Not really mind-blowing, but interesting.
