Nagi no Asukara is at least 8/10 worthy romance, although I would give it a 9.
In its all simplicity, it is still quite unpredictable and sad to some extent. Heartbreaking, somewhat.
I couldn't recommend more. It's fantastic - watch it, if you're into romance.

Hyped for the new upcoming anime later this year that is dubbed "Charlotte"

Same writer, Jun Maeda, and production studio, P.A Works, as with Angel Beats!

RE: The (not BL but) Anime Thread

Fast ratings and quick thoughts on anime I've watched in the past couple years!

NOTE: My scores will usually be on the high side since I reserve scores 5 and below for shows that I thought I had little to no enjoyment watching and though were a waste of my time. Fortunately many of the shows I've watched thus far have never ever fallen into such fields.

Attack on Titan 9/10

Extremely adrenaline pumping show that will keep you on the edge of your seat with masterfully executed fight scenes. Showcases the despair of fighting the man eatin monsters quite well in many parts. Show can get a bit slow in some parts.

Higurashi (First season) 10/10

Favorite show of all time. The first season is a near perfect showing of the "fantastic" in keeping the mystery aspect fresh and not ever letting you know for sure if what's happening is based in reality or is supernatural.

Higurashi Kai (Second season) 8.3/10

A worthy continuation of the previous season but ends with a very predictable and dull final arc. The execution is still very good!

Madoka Magica 10/10

Perfectly paced show that gives all of the main characters depth. A deconstruction of the magical girl genre which will tear you apart from feeling so unbelievably sorry for all the girls' sufferings.

Clannad (First season) 8/10

Entertaining show that unfortunately has points taken off for somewhat bland characters in the supporting cast, and obvious visual novel adaption hiccups. Still extremely touching and nearly tear inducing nonetheless.

Clannad After Story 9.5/10

The feels train will never stop. You will never stop crying in the final third of this season. The only reason this isn't a 10 is because of the extremely EXTREMELY lackluster opening arcs in the starting episodes.

Dragon Ball Z 7.5/10

It's Dragon Ball Z and boom boom! Very fun!

Angel Beats 7.5/10

A show that falls flat on characters, pacing, and plot development most likely due to episode number constraint. It's a great shame since the show's themes more than carry this show to potential greatness that it was never able to realize.

Nichijou 9.5/10

The feels train will never stop (Different type of feels train). You will never stop laughing and going WAT at the show in general. A great example that comedy can reign supreme in enjoyment when compared to more serious dramas.

Stein's Gate 8/10

Show takes too much time to get going and even then it is slow at some parts. When the show hits its stride in select parts though it is a very powerful showing of just how helpless time travel can make someone.

FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 9.3/10

INSANELY entertaining with great fight scenes, themes, world-building, and just the story in general. Points are taken off for the slower middle act that mildly irritated me as well as some more lackluster characters.

Also Roy Mustang. ALL THE ROY MUSTANG.

Little Busters (Season 1) 7/10

Show is very cute with a great atmosphere created by the great writing/dialogue as well as the soundtrack. Show as a whole though is overly melodramatic and many things happen that are sometimes illogical and infuriating. However I have still grown very attached to the characters despite this and am currently planning on watching the second season which is apparently much better!

ALSO STOP RUNNING INTO THE RAIN WITHOUT UMBRELLAS JUST BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU LOOK SAD. IT'S DUMB.

Some animes that I watch(ed) with great interest Smile:

Assassination Classroom(3/5) - Weird but quite funny, wouldn't watch again
Death Note(5/5) - Awesome and really gripping
My Neighbor Totoro(4.8/5) - Had some heart but the children were quite obnoxious
Attack on Titan(4.5/5) - Really cool but kind of lost interest after a while
Ponyo(3/5) - Meh

Also, theres this anime movie that used to be on Netflix starring a girl who'd skin would burn in the sunlight and it had giant mecha robots. It was quite good but I forgot the name... Does anybody know.

I tried to watch Shigatsu, but while I like the main character, I was turned off by the amount of heterosexual behaviour.
