Hi there,

i got a problem with the install of the Demo (PenumbraBlackPlagueDemo-2567.sh) on my Ubuntu 7.10

when i execute the script:
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing nixstaller.........................................................
Collecting info for this system...
Operating system: linux
CPU Arch: x86
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I found several people on a german Ubuntu Forum having the same problem who downloaded from different locations.

Is that a 32bit or a 64bit system?

Is this the same problem that was mentioned in the Linux thread?

Quote:Oh, and for what it's worth, the Linux demo *installer* crashes after it extracts the files and attempts to run the installation gui. Run "unset DISPLAY" to use the character-based installer and it works fine.

can you run an MD5 or SHA1 on the downloaded file?? (using md5sum or sha1sum command from the console)

[urkle]$ md5sum PenumbraBlackPlagueDemo-2567.sh
60ca0b22a06b0fa50dc0de8984b6d714 PenumbraBlackPlagueDemo-2567.sh
[urkle]$ sha1sum PenumbraBlackPlagueDemo-2567.sh
613cfb6d07cba892007d6e4bbc7d266d4ecf657e PenumbraBlackPlagueDemo-2567.sh

I will download a VMware image of ubuntu 7.1 and test in there and see if I can recreate the issue.
