Unbirth was mainly done by Thomas on his own, by using an engine from another company and the with the help of some contributors. It was pretty much a finished projected but had some stability issues that would take too much time to get fixed, large parts would had to be re-programmed to work on a new version of the engine that fixed the stability issues.
The sad part is that Unbirth was almost completed but due to engine problems I was never able to get finished. All the maps where done, and over 90% of the puzzles. Also half the enemies where done, some player weapons and even a freaky intro made by Jens and some guys from his class. There is actually a playable version of the game, but because of a bug in scriptengine, the game crashes randomly at map switches.
The engine problems encountered when making Unbirth was one of the main reasons for making an inhouse engine for Penumbra.
Just wondering that isn't there any possibility that you upload it somewhere as a (bugging) beta version or something? It would be interesting to see the game! At least a little part of it!
