RE: Farewell
Yeah I'm gonna put this into perspective for you
You're eleven. You're not going to get kicked out of your house because you fail a test. You're not going to be banished from the Internet forever if you don't pass either. Considering you're in elementary school the test is most likely going to be easy as shit and won't be hard at all to pass.
Got that?

RE: Farewell
Yeah, if you fail a 5th grade test, you probably weren't absent to any classes, since that's pretty much the only thing it takes to pass a 5th grade test.

RE: Farewell
I already completed one test yesterday and gonna do two more and I'm done. This is also the same reason why No Author never logged in again; He too have this exam.

RE: Farewell
In many non-western countries, exams at elementary school determine one's placement in advanced, average, or below-average (i.e. failure) classes in their upper years. The system is indeed very segregated as their aim is to narrow down the number of students who can go into university and become a professional. I'm not sure if this is the case for JAP, but if it is, he has my sympathies.

RE: Farewell
Nobody is prepared to make important decisions at that age. It's a terrible system if you ask me. Especially since there is no proven link between intelligence or professional competence and high grades. Ignoring of course the conditioned subservience that follows mindless studying - employers tend to value that quality highly.

RE: Farewell
It's a terrible system indeed
The culture in eastern countries places high emphasis on obedience to authority, so employers may actually value mindless studying. The system also doesn't expect children to make any decisions by themselves, it's usually the parents who force their kids to go into the very advanced classes so that they can brag about their child being a lawyer or a doctor some decades later. This is the part of the reason why there's a stereotype that all asians are drones

RE: Farewell
I had the impression you were lucky to even go to school in the East.
Kinda why so many come over to the UK to be doctors and other high-end jobs.

Well indeed for advanced placements, you're either rich enough to pay for it or you must be able to eat info and vomit them on exams exactly as they were, else you're a level below (one may digest creatively at his/her own discretion). Pretty much everything score-related is ranked. BTW what we consider as decent jobs in the West doesn't necessarily mean they're regarded the same way in the East.
