RE: Giant Library Fun
Wow O.o I wasn't expecting quite so many responses, thanks guys :)
To clarify, the screenshots aren't of a completely developed level. Only the top floor (Restoration Room) is complete - and I'm still throwing in more details when I think of them. I intend to do the rest of the floors in the same level of detail/quality. I understand that the appearance of each floor is going to need some variation to make it look decent.
I hadn't thought of the original Amnesia's level designs when I was creating this, but it actually makes sense that there would be some side rooms that have functional purposes but not gameplay purposes. I'm trying to formulate some ideas for the scares and events that will take place. With a map this big, monster chases might not be a great idea, but that just means I'll have to be creative!
I might post a couple screenshots as each floor is completed to ask for some advise on the layout/practicality (without giving away too much). Speaking of feedback, Amn, what would you suggest instead for a carpet? I've only been using the original assets from ATDD and Justine.

RE: Giant Library Fun
Amnesia has some really great detail fillers specifically for libraries, and I know you have a nice eye for detail, so you should have no trouble making all 5 floors look great! Try to have a distinct theme for each floor, maybe a different color scheme, so that the player doesn't get too bored.

Or you can be clever and load/unload them with areas etc, though that would be unnecessary.
I was wondering how to do that :o thanks! I'll definitely throw in lots of particle systems then

BTW, Nice assets! And I don't even know you can customize the level editor!

Well, no rugs are perfect in how the edges are exactly aligned, and the blur on each of the pattern edges makes it look more like a rug, it doesn't necessarily have black borders around each pattern as such.

Oooh, I got called "my lady" definitely can do - it might take a while since I offered to sub for a couple of other teachers this week (yay extra money!~). Just PM me so this thread doesn't get bumped unnecessarily :)
(I forgot I had my profile linked to deviantart for a second - oops! Haha, euhm, thanks :D)

RE: Giant Library Fun [WIP]
Update
The fourth floor has been completed (to my satisfaction for now) - any suggestions on stuff to throw in before I move on to the third floor would be wonderful! Images from in-game in spoilers:
If you frequent the Screenshot Criticism thread, chances are you've seen all three of these before with a few minor tweaks

Are you gonna make light when everything is done?
Trying is the first step to success.
