I'm not trying to sound like a bad ass. I ask a smug question then he acts like a dick towards me.
I'm glad I didn't buy/play "Dear Esther" because I would hate to know it supports people like him.
If Dan's comment really provoked you that much... jesus.

Aww did someones ego get hurt? it must be hard to take criticism when you're used to everyone here kissing your ass.

this, you're worse than me! There's a fine line between showing appreciation and ass kissing.
Also, the walking simulator thing made no sense. Why exactly is it a walking simulator ? If you have this mindset than Amnesia just might not be the game for you.
Well, he obviously doesn't like Dear Esther so he tried to bash Dan using that game as a reference. Constructive criticism is always desirable, but deliberate low punches such as these are just pathetic.

Honestly, your question to Dan was quite rude and not constructive at all. There was no way to respond adequately due to the way it was formulated: it was obvious that your question was simple provocation. So Dan had two options - to ignore it or to make a non-serious response to a non-serious question. He chose the latter.
On topic: damn, I had a timezone mixup and missed the Q&A. Oh well, better luck next time.

Smug questions attracts smug answers, I don't know what else did you expected? And wait you actually didn't play Dear Esther and still use it as a negative reference? I'm done with you.
Look guys I know this looks bad, but I can explain... look a distraction!
Honestly though it was just me being an ass. Sorry.
I have a question that is not meant to provoke any more mini-flame wars: why was the game initially scheduled to be released sometime around Halloween in 2012 and then delayed to Q2 or Q3 of this year?

[/spoiler] I have a question that is not meant to prove any more mini-flame wars: why was the game initially scheduled to be released sometimes around Halloween in 2012 and then delayed to Q2 or Q3 of this year?
I know things happen, but that is a large delay.
It was originally supposed to be something alla justine, but later they changed their mind and decided to go for something more like a full game.
The Q2 and Q3 releases were not release dates either but expectations which are not to be taken as fact.

Well that was convenient. Anything on the actual length of the game? I hope it is long just like the Penumbra games. I loved Amnesia, but it was far too short.

@martinnord you just happened to quote me before the edit kicked in :p.
He answered a question on it in that interview.. it should be here I can look for it but Im sure you'll find it.

It's built in HPL2, so should be. There's a fair bit of custom stuff in there though, so it might be tricky at first.

Depends on how long you spend hiding and/or being mutilated really. I think we clock our playthroughs at a run, knowing the game really well, etc, at around 4-4 1/2 hours, so I think you're probably looking at 5-6.
Here
Not too happy about the short game length actually but I am hoping it will be worth every minute to play and who rushes through Amnesia anyways haha
