I'm sorry I pirated Amnesia...

				Dear Frictional Games,

I'm sorry I pirated Amnesia: the Dark Descent 2 years ago. It was wrong of me. Oh, I can use a plethora of excuses to justify my actions: I didn't have a credit card or PayPal, I indirectly caused 3 sales, my positive reviews to everyone I knew spread awareness, etc. I can use any excuse I want but it won't fill the chasm in my soul stemming from the feeling that I ripped off some very deserving individuals. This game exceeded all my expectations for a horror-adventure game, sucked me in like a swimming pool of vanilla pudding, and gave me more hours of "enjoyment" than most mega-budget games I payed more than $50 for... At the time, I could have just borrowed a credit card and payed $12 for it on Steam (As of right now it's around $5). I could gush for hours about how many ways this game floats my boat, but the bottom line is that with the continued support of the modding community I have invested many hours into this game and I don't think it's fair to leave you out of it.

Now that I actually own a credit card I've set out on a mission to pay back the developers of games I pirated over the years. I bought the game at full price from your site, and the soundtrack too. I am very much looking forward to "A Machine for Pigs", and I hope we're cool.

Lol, you make it sound like you held them up at gunpoint and ran away with the only existing copy of Amnesia in the world, laughing as they lay bleeding on the streets. I guarantee you, it is a disappointment to them at most.

It's not unprecedented that you have played cracked Amnesia game. And it's not unprecedented that you have confessed that you have downloaded cracked version. But it's truly incredibly unprecedented that you trying to pay back the developers you have pirated! Be honest I never ever heard of such an action, of such a personal decision. Unprecedented!

This is probably the most heartfelt apology I've read in years. Wow.

+1 from me as well.

RE: I'm sorry I pirated Amnesia...

Might I infer from the fact that all of you care so much that you actually consider piracy to be a grievous offense in the first place? Then I'd like to remind you that he is still guilty of doing so and by buying it now he is doing little more than mitigating the consequences. I'm not saying I consider it a big deal - I don't - but you guys hardly praise everybody who buys the game and shower them with reps. You might call his account heartfelt, but I call it melodramatic. It deserves acknowledgement as an apology and nothing more.
