Hi There,

I want to know if these specs can run the new amnesia game so i can pre purchase it right now!

- Win 7 64 bits
- Intel Core i5-2450
- 6Gb RAM
- Directx 11
- Geforce 410m 1GB dedicated or 3GB shared (Here is where i have the doubt)

Yes, you can run the game, but likely only on low.

Requirements updated. Changes:

Minimum CPU: High-End Intel Core i3 / AMD A6 CPU or equivalent.
Recommended CPU: High-End Intel Core i5 / AMD FX CPU or equivalent.

Minimum GPU: Mid-End NVIDIA GeForce 200 / AMD Radeon HD 5000 series.
Recommended GPU: High-End NVIDIA GeForce 400 / AMD Radeon HD 6000 series.

Also, Amnesia A Machine for Pigs does indeed use OpenGL 2.1 like Amnesia did. So no problems with the answers given so far.

If I buy a pc with AMD 7000 series or NVIDIA 700, is that better? or are these series differently build so I have to watch what it is. or is there a place where the thing with gpu's are explained.

The "series" of a graphics card is defined by the first digit of the model, for example 7xxx, and 6xxx. If the rest of the three numbers are identical then the newer series is almost always better.

HOWEVER that's where the second digit comes in. The second digit will determine the power of the graphics card, also usually higher the better, for example a ATI 5850 would be better than a ATI 5750.

Series, and power numbers both play into how good a graphics card is overall, so you'd do best to cross reference those to figure out which is better.

Here's a little general rule I like to follow, but there's a ton of variables so it's never always reliable:

When comparing two graphics cards, if the two graphics cards' series numbers are not further than 1 apart, then the one with the higher second digit is the better one. If the second digits are the same, then the one with a higher series number is better.

Again there a re a ton of variables to this so the above rule is really only applicable like 60% of the time I'd say by average (I pulled that percentage out of my ass btw so take it with a pinch of salt.)

Nvidia: 200 < 400 < 500 < 600 < 700 series (current)
AMD: 5000 < 6000 < 7000 series (current)

So in general yes, the 700 nvidia and 7000 amd series is above the requirements. However, don't buy for example the lowest-end 700/7000 series card. It will work but the performance might not be the best.

Basically (to make what Kreek said simpler) it goes like this:

NVIDIA

Entry-Level: x40 cards (ex: 640)
Mid-range: x50, x60 cards (ex: 650 - 660)
High-end: x60 Ti, x70, x80 (ex: 660 Ti - 680)
Enthusiast: x90 (ex: 690, Titan)

AMD (for 7000 series only, to make it simpler)

Entry-Level: 73xx - 76xx cards (ex: 7670)
Mid-range: 77xx cards (ex: 7770)
High-end: 78xx - 7970 cards (ex: 7950)
Enthusiast: 7990 card

Due to the cpu integrated graphics I would say Medium settings. The rest of the system is fine.
