RE: Questions & FAQ about Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Requirements

I can honestly say after playing this game with my set up: nvidia geforce 620 2 gig, AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8 processor, 4 gigs of ram; the game is payable but it drops when I look at............ WATER (dramatic music plays). Other than that everything runs fine with the game. I have all settings on lowest and the resolution set to 640x720 ( I think that's the resolution). I also tried my ati 4200 HD and I noticed on some parts the game turns into a slide show and other frames pick up to 30 and then all of a sudden the game goes back to being a slide show. It might just be an issue with my processor but when I play with my 620 it goes up to 60 frames and only drops around water for some reason.

P.S. water did not drop frames in TDD but the water might be composed of different resources than it was in TDD

I tried to lower the settings to the min and still lags like hell (even turning off the blue fog won't help), also I updated the drivers bud had no luck in improving the fps. Those are my brother's PC specs and he could run ATDD with no problems in Mid settings.

Mine has AMD Athlon x2 255 with 3.10 GHz with 3 RAM, ATI Radeon HD5450 with 512mb GPU and it runs pretty well in Mid/High settings.

Thanks Big Grin

Both the cpu and especially the gpu are far below minimum requirements. That graphics card performance should be very similar to a 1st gen Intel HD one at which the game is unplayable. All you can do is make sure you have the latest drivers from AMD.com, all background programs are closed and that all game settings are to the lowest possible level. Other than that, nothing else can be done. The system is too weak for the game.

Thx for your answer, maybe I'll let him play his game in my PC, after I'm done of course LOL Tongue

RE: Questions & FAQ about Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Requirements

I hope my machine can run it. Please tell me it can. I have been waiting patiently for this game, only to see the system requirements are a bit higher than the first Amnesia. This is what I was so worried about when the first trailer for Pigs was released.

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD Athlon II X2 240
ATI Radeon HD 3200
4GB RAM
1TB Hard Disk space

**crosses fingers** Sorry if I missed something. I am not that great at listing my system specs, aside from listing the OS, processor, graphics card, RAM, and disk space. I'm a noob. THANK YOU!!!!

Your graphics card does not support OpenGL 2.1 but rather 2.0 according to specs. Maybe over the years AMD released newer drivers that added software OpenGL 2.1 support but even then the game most probably wouldn't be playable. Was Amnesia TDD playable?

Yeah, Amnesia TDD was playable. Texture quality and shadow resolution were on High setting, everything else was set to Medium. The game runs very good.

Then I guess the pigs will run as well at lower settings. Judging from Amnesia TDD, AAMFP should work but keep in mind that your hardware is below system requirements.

Well what's your definition of "good price"? The more money you have the better the card, so can't really recommend you anything until you give me a budget.

An AMD Radeon HD 7770

I'm more in favor of Nvidia cards, but at that price range AMD had a better price/performance ratio.
