Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues

I understand that many games have different techs but If someone pass minimal reqs or have hardwere that provide a posibilty to play at maximum settings should play a game with no inssues. If i've passed minimal req i should be able to play smoothly at lowest settings at least. MAny people say that they have such problem. I cant believe that people come to the forum to whine about a game just to do so without any reason. If u have posted reqs that are official u have to consider that people who have passed them and have issues may be right and something needs to be repaired in-game:/

I don't know how to explain this but at lowest settings there is stuttering and at highest too. There is no lag that can be caused by bad PC its just this weird stuttering so for us costumers its hard to understand why we have this problem withous any noticeable reason on our side (ours PCs)

But if this was an issue only with the game, due to lack of optimization, then everyone would have this issue with these setups. They don't as if they did this forum would not be working at the moment due to the load of users wanting support.

Yes, of course it is not good that there is this issue. But chances are there is no patch possible to make, as the problem might most likely be with hardware/software conflicts or potential issues outside of the game.

Try to shut everything down possible, definitely do not leave the browser open in the background, turn off antivirus, steam overlays, hardware accelerated aero themes and what not.

Ok then, I give up I can do nothing to improve gameplay on my PC. Don't wanna be rude but I hope more people will complain about this

I'm on a iMac (I created a thread in that section about screen tearing on mac) but I'm also experiencing these stutters. They happen right before something scary happens.

A good place to test the stutters is near the start - down the first main stairs, when the chandelier shakes and pictures fall. No matter what settings I use or what I change in the streaming/buffer config the problem remains. I know this isn't a mac thread but it's the exact same issue.

This along with the screen tearing has left me with a broken game. I hope it gets fixed because the game does look good.

Come on! It was the same thing with The Dark Descent!

It's a Graphic Engine bug, that's all it was and that's all it is!

With Penumbra there was bugs with some graphic drivers (ati or nvidia, I don't remember), with ATDD Sli was not working and the game was stuttering until you disable SSAO.

Same thing here, same shame years after, stutters and no sli!

I still seem to be having some framerate problems even with medium SSAO

Framerate problems can also be the cause of game files not found etc... Have you tried a steam file integrity check?

Is that button called "verify integrity of game cache"? I'm trying that now
