1) Do a steam file integrity check
2) Do you have any gamepads or controllers plugged-in to your computer. If yes, remove them, restart the computer without them and try the game again using this test .exe hotfix: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-22842.html

2) no controllers ... wait i got a tablet connected ? i guess i will try disconnecting it.

Yeah, works now.
Whether or not that was the problem i cant say, but turned off my tablet restarted it and it works now.
Also i had castelvania lord of shadow running before at the same time, so dunno, maybe that was the problem.
