I did try to just use the scale tool to switch the whole model but that messes up the lightning.
Could you please upload a screenshot of your problem? I don't quite understand the problem
I think you are talking about the normals though: You are in maya so I don't know how it's done, but I guess flipping the normals in the problematic parts will fix the issue.
