Material problem

Hello, I've encountered a problem with how a certain material reacts to light, or rather, doesn't react. I have a door, the door-handle is the same both sides, (same texture etc) however one side appears nearly black. I've had this before but never really known what to do about it, I'm sure it's a quick fix, if anyone can help that'd be great :-) I've attached an image to show what the problem is.

Thanks

Blame it on the shadows.

It's one model made up of a few different meshes.

RE: Material problem

Might have to clean up the face normals. Try opening the model in Maya or similar, and in Maya, you can "Unlock Normals". It'll reset them and make all edges hard. from there, just soften as needed and try exporting again. Otherwise, it might just be engine-related.
