There are also people who maybe get a bit bloated if they eat too much bread and that sort of thing. That's on the gluten-sensitivity-spectrum, but it's an exaggeration for that person to say "I can't eat gluten," and it doesn't help the people who have a real problem.
My wife is very sensitive to gluten. Two things other people do that annoy me: 1) when restaurants / food producers say "gluten free" but what they mean is "wheat free". It's not the same thing!
2) when people assume that it's no big deal. Recently someone knowingly tried to give the missus a meal made with sauce from a jar, knowing that it contained gluten but they decided she would just get over it or something. She would have been really ill. That's not on.
