Indeed, it's rather simplistic as a plot, and the universe isn't complicated at all.

Yeah, though I disagree with people who say The Matrix is just pretentious pseudo-intellectual BS. I think it propagates a fairly obvious message - however I don't think that message gets in the way of the actual movie at all, which is brilliant on all accounts.

I just completed Dead island Riptide and holy shit, I have never played a game with that many plot holes. Jeez...
I'm not saying the game unenjoyable but Techland/Deep silver must be the laziest game developers out there. They have about 3-5 different body models for NPCs and 1-2 different faces for them. Everyone looks the same, wtf.

Completely agree, the first matrix is a great film in many respects, and a great example of carrying a message without obstructing parts of the film, and should be looked upon for inspiration for films trying to do the same thing.
