RE: The Biggest Thread Ever Made: Its Legacy shall Live On
So I was in my operating systems class and we were discussing system calls, which is a method of passing control between a user program and the OS kernel. One system call was named fork, and it works by creating a process identical to the one that called fork. Both of them will execute the same code, and their only difference is that they end up in different address spaces.
>doesn't that sound familiar
Spoiler below!
Consciousness copying in SOMA is literally fork.

RE: The Biggest Thread Ever Made: Its Legacy shall Live On
I find it abit irritating when I try to talk about certain topics with my college buddies just for the sake of sharing ideas, and then having the topic shot down quickly because they somehow feel uncomfortable about it (and these topics were nothing personal, by the way.)
Couple days ago, I wanted to talk about fandoms (e.g. Furries, MLP, Sonic, etc.) because I felt like sharing opinions, and then they quickly brought up the most stereotypical shit that has to do with the fandoms I mentioned (like furries being "just about porn") and then shut me down after I try being open about fandoms not being just about stereotypes.
Honestly, I don't care if any of my buddies are into anything fancy as people have their interests, it's just that this is becoming a pet peeve of mine where people get close minded over topics where I'm not asking anything from them aside from open ideas.
