Mind palaces

What do you think of Mind Palaces?

For those of you who don't know, Mind Palaces are a way to quickly remember information by picturing it. You may know about this since memory champions use it or you watched the TV show Sherlock. It can be anything, your house to a big mansion. You need to fully commit it to memory. Walk through it and find information you need to know. Maybe you go in one room and remembered there's a math test tomorrow and there's a piece of paper that tells you all the equations.

I think Mind Palaces are kind of awesome and quickly remembering stuff? Wow.

I've used Mind Palaces too, and it's fun. I can remember stuff for surprise exams. It's like a cheat sheet in my mind.

My mind palace is an opera house, with texts on chairs, and stuff. If you use mind palaces, what is your palace?

RE: Mind palaces

I personally like the method of loci for remembering things. Its been used since ancient Greece.
I like it though because of the name. Loci rolls off the teeth easily. Wink

If I use a mind palace though I would use a crazy, spooky, Gothic castle, and every door would have a monster that scares the crud out of me. That way I would really remember the things behind the doors.....or i'd poop myself. Ether way something would get done

Hate you too luv ;) Youtube here

RE: Mind palaces

It takes longer for me to visualize a castle than to memorize information

RE: Mind palaces

I'd spend too long detailing the palace to actually store useful information in it, but I should try making a mind shack for studying this week :D

Sorry but we cannot change your avatar as the new avatar you specified is too big. The maximum dimensions are 80x80 (width x height)

I agree on that. Try to close your eyes and remember of a mnemonic of the study you are doing in a room of the palace. I put a science equation and examples on a music sheet and an engraving of a math stuff in the back of a cello.
