Excellent movies

No, I haven't seen it. It doesn't seem like it would be superb though, and the general consensus seems to be that it's not. I'm curious as to why you think it's superb.

I'm partial to Aronofsky's movies and he made references to "The Fountain", combined with Mansell's music, there are more good elements that I can mention: like the characters' changes. I liked it that's all.

Who've stated that it wasn't good? Link? I'm curious and am always interested in reading reviews.

Well, you can check out the imdb page and read the user reviews and message board topics there, or go to RottenTomatoes and read critic views or to Metacritic and read both user and critic reviews there. It gets moderate scores on all of them and I've heard from some people that have seen it that it's just okay. I don't know anything about it, haven't even seen the trailer so I the only thing I'm basing that impression on is what I've heard about the movie. All in all I'm not terribly interested in it though I don't really know either way.

Frankly, I don't care what imdb says, as that page has lost all credibility to me. Also, that youtube-clip failed to convince me as nearly all of the critiques they mentioned were explained in the movie.

I think this is one of those hard ones to appreciate unless you're a person of faith, though there was a minor "storm" that the movie wasn't true to its source material or something, which was hilarious. Because the whole story is incredibly ridiculous to begin with I find it hard to see how they can make a compelling retelling of it. I haven't seen it either and I probably won't, but from what I've heard from several accounts, the movie is not worth the time (or money, apparently).

It's good that someone got a bit of enjoyment out of it though so I guess it's not THAT terrible.

The general consensus (like Bridge pointed out) is that the movie is below average or average at best, I usually accept that as a pretty good guideline to skip a product, unless I'm very interested in it (then I'd probably make an exception) but since I'm not even sold on the idea I doubt I will find the movie itself to be of my taste anyway.
