RE: What's this model doing?
I can't see the image for some reason :/
Not sure what it is, but it happened to me too, where I could see it fine, but others couldn't. Maybe it only happens to some? Idk.

So far, it only happened to this one, rest it's fine.

RE: What's this model doing?
Oh, I see. The [Image: whatever.jpg] is actually considered an image and not text (I can't select the text, but I can drag the image around). Ah, that's good to know then.
As for the problem here, I.. don't remember if I've encountered it myself. Don't think I have any better suggestions than flipped normals.
Hm, I think something flashes my memory about the Y axis sometimes being inverted. I think when I've imported models to Maya (or Blender some time ago), the model appeared either upside-down or as if the Y axis became the X axis. I'm afraid I don't remember what I did about it though =/

Also, the texture on the screen is wrong, it's taking only a piece of the image from the bottom-center.
I did the same thing to texture the keyboard and that one it's fine.

RE: What's this model doing?
Is the texture a pow2 resolution?
I think this has to do with the axises. What happens if you actually try to rotate the model before you export it, so that it would end up the way you want it?

RE: What's this model doing?
laptop_texture 1366x768
keyboard 612x252
screen 800x500
Yes I can rotate the thing and it works but that's the last thing I want to do.
It has to export as it is in Maya, otherwise I'm gonna run into many other problems later with other models, animations, textures and stuff.
Also the screen image is still bad.

RE: What's this model doing?
You have 3 texture files? Well, you need to make them pow2, which are for example 512 pixels by 512 pixels, 1024x1024 or 2048x2048. If they do not have that resolution, problems will occur.
Edit: Oh, and you should probably change the file to .dds instead of .jpg. I couldn't open the scene in Maya 2011, had some errors reading the file it said.
