Just to back this up a little bit, towards the end of Lissa's video Golaski swallows a magnet (I'm unclear on whether he swallowed the second one, but he definitely had two). Swallowing a magnet is a means of killing himself, but an incredibly painful one. Seems he is trying to punish himself

Looks like a chip of some sort that contains the video that his daughter sent him.
I watched it again and I'm not really sure. (its at the 4 minute mark of video 5 if any wants to look).
He has two of them sets one down with a magnetic sounding click on a metal surface, he sets the other down on an electronic tablet and to your point it definitely seems to start the video. When he removes it the video ends, which backs up your point again. I'm not sure if he does any thing with the first one when he leaves. I still think they look like magnets, but I definitely see your point
