It seems a bit too specular to me. Maybe make the head more matte, as it's supposed to be fur?

In addition to what Obliviator said, I think the antlers could use some more thickness. Right now, they look a bit too thin. Mooses...meese...whatever have quite "beefy" antlers. And fluffy ears, those seem to be missing, too Wink

On a purely technical note: When rendering in Maya, click on your camera, go to the attributes editor, find the environment option (it's under the CameraNameShape tab, not under CameraName) and change the color to something other than black. (a light grey works fine) It will change the background of the rendered image, thus making the model easier to see and if you're rendering with mental ray you'll also get some nice, soft global illumination in addition to your placed lightsources. Yes, now that you mention it - I forgot the ears! Sad I agree with you on the antlers as well.

The renders usually come out alpha-mapped, so I can choose the background later in photoshop. This background is something around a 97% black because I figured he'd be looking scarier that way ^^ The slight global illumination seems appealing though.. Will try it out!

Thanks!

I haven't had decent inspiration to do anything painting or modelling-related and I'm itching to do something... But nothing is coming out right.... akljdhfalsdjfaljsdfa

I know that feel, Statyk. I want to model something, but I have no inspiration or creativity. D:

A good hint if you want to practice, but don't know what draw/model: Randomly grab something from your desk, and make it. I'm being serious about this. It's good for giving you ideas when you can't think of any.

Just don't twist this piece of advice into any funny business though...
