Steam Penumbra Collector Pack version crashes on launch

Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months ago Steam Penumbra Collector Pack version crashes on launch

I downloaded the Penumbra Collector Pack off of Steam and cannot get it to run on my system. The game crashes almost immediately after I try to launch it. I think the problem is with the video card. I have an nVidia 6800 GTX and have the latest drivers installed. The same problem happens with both Overture and Black Plague. The strange thing is that I also downloaded the demo and it seems to run fine. However I noted that when I ran the demo that Vista changed color schemes from Windows Vista Aero to Windows Vista Basic. This doesn't happen when I try to run the full version. The 2nd log is from running the Overture demo.

BlackBox returns the following exception:

I had all three of the Penumbra games installed (Overture, Black Plague and Requiem), so I deleted all of them and only reinstalled Overture. This seems to work as now the game actually launches and at least so far the game plays with no problems. Don't know if I'll have to uninstall Overture when I want to play the others, but I'll deal with that later if necessary.
