RE: Serious Request! In search of SERIOUS team members for unity horror project

I think a few questions still remain unanswered (and probably unasked).

Are you 100% sure you are going to pull through this project to the very end?
Even if it requires 3 years of hard work with dedicated people?
How much will you trust and depend on those who join your team?
What will happen when something goes wrong?

These amongst other questions are probably gonna be very important. I'm not trying to discourage you though, I'm just trying to be realistic. You're starting a very big project here that will require a lot of trust and dedication, so tread carefully.

RE: Serious Request! In search of SERIOUS team members for unity horror project

I'd like to add something to this discussion, I get about 3 emails every day with people asking me to work with them on their games, they wish to pay me ''Eventuall Kickstarter money'' or ''When the game is released''

I'd like to point out that for anyone out there who wants to get something remotely serious done, this is a TERRIBLE way to approach things and does nothing but show how much of an amateur you actually are, amongst the art community it's a general rule of thumb to never deal with these people UNLESS they are capable of showing you a working game and you yourself seriously believe in what they can show you.

Better to go straight up and say ''Yo, this is unpaid work that we are doing for fun.''
( I am currently making my own lil' game and I have managed to get a pretty damned nice team together by now using this very method, show working concept, impress others, profit! )

So yeah, before you actually have anything to show for yourself, don't expect people to jump onboard the hype train.

You can also post this if you want other people to team with you in other forums and etc, Not sure if there is lots of people who knows how to use unity here, I kinda find unity hard to use but always good to make your first game

You should really stop bad-mouthing at Traggey so much. He was just giving his honest opinion on how he sees all this.

The logic behind this sentence is rather counter-productive imo...

If you want people interested then you SHOULD show them some stuff.

I am being perfectly calm and I have no personal agenda against you? I'm merely dropping some useful information, unity is a step above HPL and you are not going to find alot, if anyone to join up with you if you can't show them something to pull them onto your side.

Please don't take this the wrong way but what Traggey says is true. I've done plenty of paid design and coding work (Flash). Some of it went well, other times I was burned, and I've learnt to be careful. Personally, I am very interested in working on a commercial horror game in Unity, but when I saw your post I heard alarm bells.

It all comes down to communication and reliability. You and me have past experience to do with communication and reliability, Lange, which I'm not going to dredge up here.

One last thing, then I'll stop compulsively looking at this thread:

2 days is how long it took

Nuff said.

The IF i ment is IF i will find a good team to work with.
It wont be ease to find a team.
And people who want to spend a lot of time in a game.
Like fg, jens , thomas.. they did it, if we have a good team, we will be able to get it to work.

RE: Serious Request! In search of SERIOUS team members for unity horror project

The situation here is like with some over eager owner of a gold mine:
"join me, I'll show later how much I've produced".
Although the mine might be depleted empty years ago.

For the millionth time: show what you have already managed to implement.
Maybe then your goldmine will have goldminers. They actually know you can produce, that the mine produces. That gives them the motivation, not the fact that there is something you call a goldmine or a horror related Unity project. Make everything less suspicious.

Bad subject to give examples with, but I hope you got my point.
Give some evidence to support your work.
