Black Screen after intro

Solved: 8 Years, 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago Black Screen after intro

Hello,

After the intro the screen goes black and can't get out of it. I'm using all options on off, running the game under Ubuntu 9.04 32 bits using an ATI Radeon Express 1100.

I'm attaching the hpl.log with some errors

Any help will be welcome. Thanks!

Hi,

You can probably do ctrl-alt f1, then pidof penumbra then kill -9 PID and exit to get out of the game and back to the desktop.

Do you have the latest graphics drivers for you card?

I have exactly the same problem with Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 but with a nvidia card. After the intro -> black screen. But sound is OK.

I got the same problem as the tread opener.
My sys specs:

Kubuntu jaunty (9.04) 32Bit
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series 256Mib
Standart fglrx 8.60.40 / CCC 2.6
4 Gib Ram

I've purchased the collection a couple of minutes ago.
Installation went fine.
Menue and Intro also do.

And Bang, the game crashes back to desktop.



Is there any solution for this?
Is it possible to figure it out together?


If you want to give an answer please note i'm a normal linux user (since 3 years)
and not a linuxpowergeekfreakandallthingsabaoutknower so be patient to me please.
