Need help, folks

The game is still crashing to desktop a few seconds after launch, frictional logo appears clearly oversized on screen (really big, my 40"" 4k TV cannot display the hole "Frictional" word, only the middle letters. After that, like I said, the game crashes to desktop with no warnings or error messages.

Launch menu cannot detect my AMD R9 290X videocard. Using Windows 10 Tech Preview, build 10041 (newest), with the latest video drivers.

- Tryed compatibility modes, log as admin, etc.

- Tryed different resolutions, disabled ssao, blablabla.

- Tryed 1.2.1 version, applyed 1.3.1 version, re-installed the game... nothing seems to help.

Please help, thanks in advance

Not sure if the hpl log is the correct one as according to it this is a very old version, from where is the game? Try running the game in something that is not an OS in development. Running a tech preview is not something we can give support for.

I'm using the Steam version of the game. I understand the problem now and I've managed to solve it:

I'm using a UHD 4k TV, with 3840x2160 res. At that resolution, in order to display desktop itens, icons, fonts and menus at a minimum acceptable size (too small at that resolution!), I need to change the scale to 200% (extra large) in the control panel, video options.

Problem is, when I launch the game using this scale, the game intro and the main menu looks incredible big (way larger than my screen). All I can see is a small (the upper left) part of the game menu wallpaper and I'm unable to see or access the game options (start game, load, etc.).

I solved this issue right-clicking the game’s shortcut and then clicked "Properties", "Compatibility" tab, and selected "Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings". That's it.

Important: Amnesia looks great in 3840x2160 res: the game itself was not affected by this issue, only the intro lanimation (Frictional logo) and game menu.

A question: is this a game issue in modern hi res monitors/TVs that needs to be fixed in the future?

Sorry to be such a noob, here. Thanks, anyway

Just wondering about that old hpl date.
But yeah, you are right. Amnesia's font and gui is too small at this high resolutions. A fix would be great, because 4K becomes more and more to the standard.
