Yeah, I caught that but I can't really speculate about why it's happening. The camera makes a grid, finds the quardrant with the symbol and the there's a flash that seems to come from the camera (I say that because there don't appear to be any strong shadows visible during).

All I can say is that it seems like a multi step process. Where she stands for each flash may be important but the process overall is sufficiently routine to pass without special comment from her.

I'm thinking the pad is just some sort of calibration device.

Interesting theory posted by someone on YouTube:
Johan Karpantschof Wrote:The machine made an independent copy of her inside the video. The one in the video wasn't dead. It was born. It had to "wake up". The women in the video is pretty desperate and is yelling "help.. help" probably because she knows what is going to happen. They shut the machine down and kill/contain her. Makes sense if you google "Vivarium".

...Wow. That really sounds feasible. I was looking at Vivarium from the point of view that they were keeping the machine "alive", not that the machine was indeed ''growing'' little copies of people inside...

In that case would it make sense to assume that the machine learns more about what it's simulating? She seems initially confused by the copy and then reacts violently to signs of life. I would think that such a sudden change in reaction would mean it did something partly unexpected.

So perhaps the game could have you be trapped inside the world created by the machine?

I'm thinking possible matrix theme similarities. Cool, especially if we can flyBig Grin.

Although there are more items to be revealed, so I wouldn't weigh the entire plot on one item. :o

Did anyone notice that face forming next to the list of Items on the Next Frictional Game website?

That creeped me out for a second. (More then my avatar.)
