Narcosis looks somewhat interesting. Never heard of it before.

Yeah, the game's direction isn't really goes to horror though.
horror's cliche, so i'm fine with it. exploration with atmosphere and tension and survival elements is better than horror imho.

But is must be scary as possible. Horror is an important thing in such a thematic like it was in Amnesia and Penumbra.

But it doesn't have to be too much scary.

Has the Engine's physics been improved/optimized? I've tried having 50-60 bricks colliding with each-other and the environment and the FPs would tank during the simulation overload in Amnesia.

Same goes for ragdolls, having 5-6 piling on each other is to much for the engine.

I don't think so. The fact why people enjoyed Amnesia was because it was scary as hell.
That's the goal of a horror game. Of course, the story is also importalt, but a good horror game like Amnesia has both. And I think most people expect that SOMA will at least grueling your psyche as Amnesia did.

I'd assume around August.

What's coming after SOMA? I would like an other full-length Amnesia game with HPL3 or HPL4 engine.

While I don't doubt that there will be probably be a new expansion on the HPL engine in future, I find it hard to see Frictional working on anything specific at the moment. Maybe a few ideas and models and things have been made, but given the work that's been put into SOMA for the past five years, it may be some time before HPL4 engine is even discussed.

Who knows though? Maybe we'll get an expansion titled Golaski.
